Jin Akanishi is collaborating with Jason Derulo for his first ever U.S. single. Starting out with Kat-Tun, he led them to stardom as the lead vocalist. That day soon came when he felt it was time to stop putting others before himself. Since choosing to continue down the path of fame alone, he has accomplished several successful tours, allowing him to become one of the newest sons in the Warner Music Group family.
After listening to a couple of his tracks, the only thing I feel he has going for him is his looks. I had to listen to My MP3 three times before it grew on me. Eternal was cute, but not something that made me want to spend $2 dollars on iTunes. Obviously though, I am in the minority.
Starting out with Jason Derulo on his first U.S. release is proof enough that this kid is riding the elevator to the top. Derulo has three smash hits and 11 million singles sold. When he finally releases his new album, I will definitely be checking it out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, hoping to see Nicki Minaj getting at least a 30 second line on one of his tracks. If that happens, then you know son is on his way to laying his hands in cement.
