The world prepares to say good-bye to Dick Clark, an American Icon who died Wednesday. Yesterday Dick Clark died of a heart attack at the age of 82. Clark leaves behind family who generously shared him with Americans who supported the longest running dance and song show in history. Clark’s American Band Stand was a ground breaker bringing culture of all walks of life to the forefront. His perpetual youthfulness attracted teenagers around the world. Clark’s influence on those teenagers did as much as anything else to bring the rock and roll era to the forefront. He was the inspiration of another icon Don Cornelius who also died recently.
Anyone who has taken the stage to belt their heart out appreciates what Clark and Cornelius did for American music. Nothing will ever come close to the legacy left behind. Nothing ever makes up for the loss of a hero. We thank you anyway. May blessing abound to your family.
