Ingenuity and tenacity are always at the core of any company’s success. Just ask CEO and entrepreneur Anthony Dyson if you ever find him with an idle moment. Known as D$Money Dyson, he understood it would be an uphill climb to start Tri-State Entertainment Records when he teamed up with his partners Jared “Boss P” Person, and Brandon “Yung Bama” Bridges to form the label in 2007.
Releasing hits like A-state Gigolo, Hard Work No Play, Interstate Trafficking, and Reckoning Day, Tri-State Entertainment reflects the company’s eclectic history. First, their roots were firmly established on their home scenes which includes Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida. Second, their musical development has evolved from a home-grown blend to an international brew. Third, all three label members honorably served their country as sailors in the United States Navy before coming together to make their music.
Stints in the Navy took them to the Middle East. Nothing deters this crew. Even life in Bahrain gave them opportunities to demonstrate their ambition and nurture their creative forces. It appears that being in harm’s way only helped them to become more driven. Tri-State officers are also astute enough to appreciate the importance of reaching out. Dyson’s collaboration includes artists from 3MG label circa their transitions, Zadrion “Dj Yung Stylez” Hawkins and a best beat selling producer. Hawkins has been associated with Atlantic Records.
Staying true to their roots, these men have returned home to enroll at local college and universities honing hone their talents by studying business management, photography, and nuances of entrepreneurship. Dyson encourages his partners to embrace all highs and lows of each endeavor. The Tri-State Entertainment label doesn’t allow anything to interfere with their mutual vision. A lull in opportunities becomes a platform for restructuring. A service obligation became a value proposition, and a challenge became the fuel for creativity.
